Text: It is a political cartoon. It is unique because it highlights a controversial topic in education cuts and government. It shows a community working together to solve the financial crisis and their response is cut education benefits and let the kids share a burden they did not create.
Reader: The intended audience is America and those calling for education cuts. I am apart of this audience because I am an American but I do not believe in cutting the funding for education at all. The author and I share the commonalities that we think this is wrong. Children do not impact the financial state and they have absolutely no control over how adults spend their money. I wasn't opened to change since I was already in agreement but I hope more people are due to this cartoon.
Author: A cartoonist name Bolick drew this text. The increase to cuts in funding for education prompted the creation of this text. I could not find much information about Bolick so I do not know his credentials.
Constraints: Since the author sees cutting funds to education is wrong, he would not see the benefits in cutting funds to education...even though I don't see many. Myself as a reader, share the same bias as Bolick.
Exigence: The author is involved because he is a political cartoonist but I'm assuming the increase in cuts to education spurred is involvement in the argument.
